COVID-19 & Safety Procedures
Due to the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic is ever-changing and evolving, we will be changing and evolving our safety procedures along with it. The safety and health of everyone involved in this process is of the utmost importance!

Throughout our rehearsal process, we will be following the lead of the Truman Theatre department and faculty, as well as Truman State University as a whole.

During rehearsals, only necessary actors will be called for each day. When in the rehearsal space, all members of the rehearsal team will be required to wear a face covering. When blocking Antigone, we will be utilizing physical distancing, and will also discuss the idea of wearing face coverings during the performances themselves.

The use of Intimacy and Fight Choreography are currently not feasible, and are not possible to utilize while maintaining the safety of the actors involved

If Truman State University were to move our classes entirely online at any point throughout the semester, we would continue rehearsals and production of Antigone over Zoom. We would still perform Antigone on the predetermined dates, but the production would be streamed and/or made available online!

For the safety of the actors, all costume pieces will either be pulled from their personal closets, or will be pulled from stock, washed, placed in a sanitized container, and then delivered to the actor, who will hold on it for the remainder of the process.

All props will be pulled from stock, sanitized, and then will be stored in a secure location between rehearsals, as well as being sanitized before and after each rehearsal. We will also be limiting, if not eliminating entirely, the passing of props between actors.

The concept for Antigone has always been to set the show in the modern day, even to set it right now. To set our production in the current circumstances of our world would add another layer to this timeless story, and would encourage all involved to examine the time we live in and the choices that we are making.
